Medical Facilities
Clinics, Hospital Additions & Specialty Medical Facility Construction in the Texas & Oklahoma Panhandles
A & S General Contractors delivers medical facility construction across the Texas and Oklahoma Panhandle — from ground-up standalone clinics and specialty medical buildings to additions and expansions for existing healthcare facilities. Medical construction requires a higher level of coordination, schedule discipline, and attention to detail than most commercial project types. It’s work A & S has done before, and work we take seriously.
– WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT
Medical Construction Has Less Room for Error
A retail build that runs two weeks behind schedule is an inconvenience. A medical facility that misses its opening date affects patient care, staff scheduling, and the operations of a healthcare organization. The stakes are higher, and the contractor you hire needs to understand that.
Medical facilities also carry construction requirements that aren’t typical of other commercial project types. Specialized mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Careful coordination between the general contractor, medical equipment vendors, and the facility’s own clinical team. Phased construction that may need to work around an active healthcare environment. And a level of finish quality in clinical spaces that reflects the professionalism of the care being delivered there.
A & S has delivered medical construction projects across the Texas Panhandle — from standalone clinics and specialty medical buildings to hospital additions that required careful sequencing around existing operations. We understand what’s required and we deliver it.

– WHAT TO EXPECT
What A & S Brings to Medical Construction
Medical projects require a general contractor who can manage complexity without passing it back to the owner. Here’s what working with A & S on a medical facility project looks like:
01
Coordinated Bidding & Transparent Pricing
Every A & S bid is broken down to standard CSI construction divisions — no vague allowances, no line items that can’t be verified. On medical projects, where MEP systems and specialty finishes add complexity to the budget, that clarity matters more than on a standard commercial build.
02
Schedule Discipline
Medical facility openings drive downstream decisions — staffing, equipment procurement, patient scheduling. A & S treats the project schedule as a real commitment, not a starting point for negotiation. We begin every project with a site visit and don’t submit pricing without a drawing to back it up.
03
Inspection Management
A & S manages all on-site inspections from groundbreaking through certificate of occupancy. On design-build medical projects, we also coordinate permitting through the design process. Medical facilities often carry additional inspection requirements — A & S handles them as part of standard project delivery.
04
Single Point of Accountability
Whether your medical project is a design-build or a hard bid from completed plans, A & S is the single point of contact for construction. We coordinate subcontractors, manage schedules, handle inspections, and report to you — not the other way around.
– HOW WE WORK
Design-Build or Hard Bid – We Work Either Way
A & S delivers medical facility projects through design-build, construction management, or hard bid on plans provided — whichever method fits where your project is in the planning process.

Design-Build Medical Projects
If your medical facility project doesn’t have a complete set of plans yet, A & S can manage the full process — from design through construction — under one contract. We coordinate with architects and engineers, manage permitting, and deliver the completed facility. Design-build is particularly well-suited for medical clients who want a single point of accountability and a streamlined path from concept to occupancy.
Hard Bid from Completed Plans
If your architect or engineer has already produced a complete set of construction documents, A & S will put together a fully itemized competitive proposal broken down to standard CSI divisions. We work comfortably from plans provided by any licensed architect or engineer and will coordinate with your design team throughout the construction process.
